F.A.Q.

What is the Electribe Sample Manager?

Electribe Sample Manager reads and creates files in the format ".all". A ".all"-file bundles your favorite samples into one single file which will be loaded when powering on your Electribe Sampler. You can browse through these samples using the "Oscillator" knob. The Electribe Sampler stores the default ".all" file on your SD-card at the following location: "Electribe Sampler/Samples/e2sSample.all" (use DATA UTIL (26/27), EXPORT ALL SAMPLE (10/13)).

Which problem does Electribe Sample Manager solve?

The normal way to import new samples is to copy your samples onto your SD-card. Before you can use one of those samples you have to import one by another from the SD-card into one of the user slots, which is tedious. Preparing a ".all"-file with Electribe Sample Manager is easy. You either load an existing ".all"-file from SD-card ("Electribe Sampler/Samples/e2sSample.all") or create a new one.

How can I open a ".all"-file with Electribe Sample Manager?

Use the "File->Open" menu or right-click "Open with..."->"Sample Manager.app".

How do I add samples with Electribe Sample Manager?

On the top-left corner of the browser is an icon which lets you choose the root directory to browse your samples (Mac OS).

What is the difference between Factory Samples and User Samples?

Factory Samples are stored in the Electribe Sampler's ROM and will be copied to a new ".all" file. With Electribe Sample Manager you can overwrite the factory samples with your own ones. This saves memory for the factory samples if you don't need them.

Why can I only load 24mb of samples?

Sigh... Well, please don't blame me for this limitation. This is an Electribe Sampler limitation which no one understands.

Can I edit a ".all"-file which I modified on the Electribe Sampler?

Sure you can. To save all edits to your samples, you are already familiar with DATA UTIL (26/27), EXPORT ALL SAMPLE (10/13). This writes the current state of the RAM to "Electribe Sampler/Samples/e2sSample.all" on your SD-card. You can open this file with Electribe Sampler Manager and save it back to your SD-card.

Can I move my samples safely to another position with Electribe Sample Manager?

Reorganizing samples on the card is not supported since the App is not aware of the relation between patterns and samples. But you can delete unused samples and fill the gaps with other samples.

How can I add user samples without deleting the factory samples?

  1. Boot your Electribe Sampler without a card. This will restore the factory samples.
  2. Insert a SD card into the slot of the Electribe Sampler.
  3. In the menu choose DATA UTIL (26/27) and then EXPORT ALL SAMPLE (10/13)
  4. After the operation has finished insert the card into your computer
  5. Start the Sample Manager and choose File -> Open…
  6. Navigate to the folder KORG/Electribe Sampler/Sample/ on your card and choose „e2sSample.all"
  7. Load user samples or delete and overwrite the factory samples as need.
  8. Save the file, eject it and put it back into the Electribe Sampler slot.
  9. Re-start the Electribe Sampler or choose IMPORT SAMPLE and select your saved file.
